Might I suggest you expand your reading beyond Milton Friedman and his fellow currency cranks. The Great Depression was predicted by only three economists of that time, Gustav Cassel, Charles Rist and Ludwig von Mises. This classic economic history book is written by one of them. amazon.com It can be your lifeline out of Monetarist group-think and their revisionist histories. Monetarism is not capitalism, nor is it a free market system. Monetarism is an absence of market constraints which results in predictable disasters. .
