Denial can be a terrible thing.

I still don't agree with removing the feeding tube at this (or any) point, but I can understand the situation better with a full history.


i'm not sure why people seem to conclude that because the parents and siblings see in her reactions to them such that their perception of her condition is not real, hence they are in 'denial'

one could also argue that her husband is also in 'denial'

denial as to her seeming desire to cling to life despite her crushing disability, and his own inability to cope with the ramifications of that

so what about the possibility of his denial??

and is doing what he can to make reality fit HIS perception by seeking her death by dehydration and starvation, rather than allowing her to die a natural death
