More progress with Iraqi troops. I think it is looking more and more like the folks who said we couldn't make good in Iraq were wrong.

Funny you get that conclusion from the article. My take on it was that we should be able to start LEAVING sooner rather than "as long as it takes".

Nobody with any sense has thought that the US was unable to occupy Iraq for decades if we wanted to (turn it into Palestine 2). My main beef has been now that Saddam's regime is gone, and gone for good, so lets get US forces as uninvolved in the future government as possible and let Iraqis start to manage and police themselves.

It shouldn't take more than 2-3 months to train an Iraqi policeman. Saddam has been gone for ~2 years....
