I smoke a cigarette. The smoke drifted down wind, provoking a coughing fit in an asthmatic. This is entirely a passive process without intent. It may be inconsiderate. It may even be preventable or not. But it produced the response nonetheless and it could be foreseen by a 3rd party. You still chose a meaning that seemed suited your agenda (I'm still not sure why you're posting here or to me on this topic where we vehemently disagree on almost every issue!) Back to Japan: one does wonder why the Japanese would ally themselves with Hitler. The racist dictatorship of Hilter that considered all non-Aryans to be inferior aligning itself with an imperial Asian emergent nation with much the same sense of racial purity and superiority? Not exactly a match made in heaven. More of the "enemy of my enemy is my friend" thinking that the strategic leadership in the White House used under Reagan. Fine, I'm guilty of irregular grammar in an ad hoc post on SI. Whoopee. I already reworded it in a subsequent clarification. (So,) What is it you want? We should keep doing everything GWB says because he's the president and beyond reproach? Name any president not deserving to be questioned. Sounds like a recipe for surrender of democracy to me.
