I think your view of it and mine are about the same. I really believed Congress had no role in it; but it does seem to me that Bush's assertion, essentially, that if we're not sure we should err on the side of "life", makes some sense to me.

I guess the worst of it is that no matter what happens there really can't be a "good" outcome.

I don't think they really want it. I think they're just using it to ride the other side re their hypocrisy.
