California alone subsidized Walmart by $86 million. Alabama says that Walmart is the single biggest drain on their state health care system. In some Walmarts, you get a food stamp application along with your employment application.

Communities are getting wise to Walmart's ways. They come in, run a million dollar PR campaign, get all kinds of subsidies and, if, their store doesn't do the numbers they like, leave the community with an empty hulk and lots of red ink.

Our country has been turned into a fascist state where the megacorporation and the ultrarich who own them are more important than everyone else combined. The power of the government is used to codify that ideology and promote even more transfer of wealth.

That's ALL the Bush tax plan is: a humongous transfer of wealth from those who work for a living to those who do not. Ditto the Medicare bill, ditto the Social Security 'reforms', ditto the war in Iraq.

Bush and his ilk are simply thieves who are reaping the rewards of decades of propaganda. They're giggling at the stupidity of those going bonkers over Schiavo.
