The toughest decision: Fairfax man awoke from coma after his wife refused to take him off life support

[Note: If this ever happens to me I guess I'd like to be kept alive for a few months to see if I come out of it. But not for 15 years like Terri Shiavo.]

Let me give you the perspective I have. I am the father of a family with a single child - a girl. She is happily married and blessedly healthy. If she were to be treated as Terri Schiavo has been by her husband - I would say he had forfeited his right to decide. We raised our girl for over 20 years - for some guy living with another woman to tell us he owned the right to pull the plug on our daughter would make me crazy.

IMO - Michael has forfeited his right to decide by essentially divorcing his wife!
