Depends on what they read and where they travel. Don't know what living in large urban areas or speaking more than one language has to do with being "informed". I suspect most of those are less informed about political matters than the norm.

Mormons spend a year of their lives living in foreign countries as missionaries. Career military personnel usually spend years of their lives based in foreign countries. The same is true of petroleum engineers and geologists.
