that still doesn't begin to explain why NCR should lose 17%. and sorry, but you can buy a hatchet for $20, why should investors say that a Hurd hatchet is worth billions? anybody can fire people. Chainsaw Al might be looking for a job... it's basically irrational. but then, if tech investors were rational, the industry would be recognized as the cyclical destroyer of capital that it is and Nasdung wouldn't have a big electronic billboard in Times Square.
