reading your theory and taking it to a logical top before a conclusion, i.e., before a chinese government fall, the logic would lead me to think you would be a big oil bull instead of a straddler at this time. it should take years before the theory could play itself out in practice, and in the interim the price of oil would climb. more work would happen for osx companies too as the chinese try hard to find some more oil in their own offshore areas. i know chinese guys who right now are offshore shore china pumping oil on some new platforms they built. they are going to be spending more money offshore china (and elsewhere).

if the theory takes years in practice, it seems a trend could be discerned. it seems you would have plenty of time to make some money, before the collapse of the oil prices. just trying to take the ideas presented and follow it through.

Goldman has a very long speculative position in oil right now and they do not want to see that go down, hence the perfectly timed superspike report, which is a load of hot air. There is no better cure for high prices than high prices, as jim_p has said before.
