Orca, he lost billions of dollars in oil revenues because he couldn't sell Iraqi oil due to the sanctions, except through the Oil-for-Food scam.

Don't you think it would help the quality of the discussion if you acquainted yourself with the basic facts?

The French were making no more money off Iraq than anyone else.

The new Iraqi government has published who got the Oil-for-Food bribes. Russian and French officials were the largest beneficiaries, check it out. The French had also gotten a really sweet deal for TotalFinaElf, which could only be concluded if the sanctions were lifted. And surprise, surprise, surprise, the French were working to lift the sanctions. Again, it helps if you know the history. But maybe in your case, it doesn't.
