A shame Tek's not still around. Tek made several favorable comments about Doran, and mentioned that anyone with his views would have a very hard time getting tenure. Fortunately for Doran, his nationwide reputation is outstanding, and he has several top offers. You think I am wrong about his popularity? Think again. BTW, I just passed up posting an article about the ME depts refusals to teach Arabic to CIA students. It goes back 30 years, and just popped up again with the new bill congress passed to finance it. They are refusing to have any students in their classes funded by this program unless they know who they are and they demand that their identity be published to the college community. Nice way to "out" future undercover agents and harass them on campus. I know of no other department in our Universities that are as anti-Israel and anti-US Government as the ME ones.
