It sounds like for all the exercise you get, you should be in primo condition! I can really sympathize with the caffeine thing, though. I noticed as my husband and I were aging that caffeine just had much more of an effect on us. Especially my husband--he was really, really wired all the time and I could tell when he had had too much coffee because he would be irritable and talking nonstop like some maniac on cocaine or something (if you remember the seventies and eighties). And I read a medical report that caffeine ingestion replicates what stress does to your arteries. Anyway, we actually decaffeinated our household. As a spiritual thing, really. Now it is very, very calm here. We drink naturally decaffeinated teas like Earl Grey and Constant Comment because I always liked those growing up, and decaffeinated green tea as well, and we buy decaffeinated fair traded organic coffee, which tastes really good without the caffeine. It is still a morning pleasure, the aroma wafting back towards the bedrooms and all that. My daughter thought we were sort of insane, because just as she was getting interested in caffeine we were getting away from it, but she respects our house rules and drinks it when she is out. There is so much stress in modern life anyway, and most of us are hooked to some extent on this drug that amps the whole thing up even more. Of course, if you look at the state of health of American society you will just despair. I try not to think of it . . . I hope you feel better, and your tests come back okay. One thing I found is that when I hit my forties, I had to actually go to bed for a day or two as I was getting sick with the flu, and then take it really easy for several weeks, or the chest congestion just would not clear up. All that aging body stuff . . .
