Excellent post Laz. You explained everything clearly and intelligently.

My objection to the entire mess is that we should allow assisted suicide. There would have to be a lot of safeguards in place but to allow human beings to suffer as I have witnessed when they plead to die is the inhuman thing.

Morphine is a great way to go.. I certainly would never never want to be Terri and the only consolation I have is what you state that she could feel nothing. Her vegetative state was comparable to being dead.

Great, except she was not dead or even completely "brain dead", so she was in fact a very severely disabled person who was murdered with the approval of the courts. (in my honest opinion of course)
