James David Dale & Lord Rees-Mogg, in their treatise "The Great Reckoning", predicted a loss for the Dems in '92 and that it would be the end of the Democrat party. Well, the loss didn't happen until '00. But the death of the Democrat party is right on schedule.

I think Delay is just as bad for the Republicans as these extremists in the Democrat party are for it. I think Delay needs to go. At the same time, I think some extremism is fine as long as it isn't based on mean-spiritedness or political hatred (Rick Santorum would be an example).

You'd better hope that's not true. The GOP has made it very clear they do not excel when it comes to running a country.

And Tom Delay is not an isolated aberration as your comments suggest. After all, he's the majority leader of the House........enough fellow GOP Reps. respected him to elect him to that position. In fact, he is a symbol of how badly the GOP has become corrupted.

As for Rick Santorum, his wife just settled a malpractice suit for $350k.....this after Senator Santorum and the GOP have made a big thing about putting a cap on malpractices suits at $250k. Do as I say, not as I do!

Frankly, the easiest thing to do is to make mincemeat of a GOPer's integrity. So I suggest you get your big nose out of Dem. affairs and stop making your dire prognostications about that party, and start taking inventory of the GOP. It looks to be the party most at risk for getting completely unhinged.

David I agree. I think Santorum is just as bad as DeLay with a little more polish..

Certainly I don't have any remedies but the future looks bleak for a party that doesn't take a stand, whether it's right or wrong. At least attempt it.
