And as every pollster knows, the month of March following a re-election is a "crucial" one.

It's not crucial...what's the price of gas in California these days anyway?

re: And as every pollster knows, the month of March following a re-election is a "crucial" one.

This was predictable (though I didn't predict it). The Republicans are giddy with their new power, and they think anything goes. They are doing exactly what they accuse the Dems of doing, they are giving in to every radical fringe element in the party. They are "losing their groove".

The most obvious faction is the "evangelicals". That's not mainstream, and it scares the shit out of people. To average folks, the evangelicals are the people knocking on the door with the Watchtower magazine. Most people think they are nuts.

As '06 approaches, watch the smart congressional folks distance themselves from Bush and the Republican leadership. Bush is a liability.
