I do think Arnold should change pensions into 401ks. It's really ridiculous they give pensions to teachers rather than 401ks. What happens when a teacher wants to quit - are they able to roll their pension into a 401k plan? Probably not. Also, teachers should be treated like the rest of America - we all should have 401ks, not special pensions, including Congress.

I thought it was dirty how the unions twisted Arnold's goal to replace pensions with 401ks, into the notion they were going to do away with disability and life insurance benefits. These are unrelated. It actually makes me more convinced Arnold needs to take these unions on.

Schwarzenegger backs off pension privatization plan

"Schwarzenegger has threatened to call a special election this year and take the measures directly to voters, if the Legislature doesn't approve them."

I sure hope he does. It's time for them to get on the same system as teh rest.
