Springer spaniels are very sweet, and good with children. So are cocker spaniels. They are just all around nice dogs. I would prefer a spaniel to a greyhound, and probably would never choose a rescued greyhound for my own lifestyle because we don't have a fully fenced backyard and like to take things pretty slow in general, but I am very happy that they are good natured and adoptable by people whose temperments they suit better.
