Forgive me for anticipating what I thought was your position. Now I'm confused. It seems to be that you disagree with me on that subject, and have no wish to discuss it further. That's OK with me.

In general, it perplexes me why people line up on topics that can't be proven, like religion and the existence of God, and seem to have predictable positions on issues where the facts and law are objective (albeit inconclusive).

I agree, gun control is a loser subject. Politicians have found that out the hard way.

Let me make one observation, and then I'll drop it. I've noticed this over the years on SI, which for me is nearing a decade now: When people are presented with a cogent argument that opposes their own view, they tend to retreat in one of two ways: they get rude, which I agree is regrettable, or they just refuse to discuss the subject as if their own view is the only possible correct one.

Weather here is overcast. We have probably a hundred daffodils, dozens of tulips, hyacinths, and other flowers showing color in our garden. How about yours?
