McCain is a much lesser evil than Bush if you are a moderate, honest conservative or liberal. He did put Bush back in power against his close friend John Kerry, but McCain was looking to 2008 where he will need a majority of the rightwing voters behind him, so what else could he do without switching parties? McCain also defended Kerry against the SmearVet lies, but then he went ahead and campaigned for Bush. Two-faced by necessity more than principle.

McCain is a moderate on many issues. Bush doesn't seem to be a moderate on anything, and he is also the most reckless spender and fiscal thief who ever existed in the White House. McCain is particular furious about the massive deficits.

If Delay and his gang fall in 2006, McCain may become the #1 Republican power broker. He is like a Gerald Ford with more gusto. He can be stomached by most people in the middle.

You got McCain tagged. Anybody who would play kissy-face with the promoter of that stuff is spineless. And unfortunately the Clintons are following the same path.
