peace has a chance if pre-conceived notions of distrust can be shaken off.

Sometimes peace seems so close, you can just taste it. The continuing hatred and distrust is so stupid. In reality both arabs and jews are victims of euro imperialism and discrimination. Jerusalem is the key to it all. City will always be capital of Israel, but moslem religious places should have some iranian shiaa input, and politically a part of jerusalem should be carved out as capital of pal state. Maybe a common parliament building with a chamber in the in the middle for regional affairs that would include jordan and egypt and a religous chamber where the rabbis and imams along with the christians can watch over the holy places.
