If you have ever seen what an emotional wreck those rhesus monkeys became when deprived of proper maternal nurturing, it isn't hard to extrapolate to how totally screwed up MJ's mind may be. Combine that with overpaid factotums and camp followers who turn a blind eye to inappropriate behavior, I could see an escalation... Shouldn't someone have said to MJ, "Hey, if you build a palace for children as a weird single man, it's going to end badly for you." Who in his life would tell him that? It is a lot to expect for people without a good psychological baseline to suddenly come to the epiphany that "Gee, I'm a child molester." after 20 years of pimping by paid assistants and hangers on.
