Even if all the criminals were totally disarmed, I would still want to own a gun. The reason for that is I am 42 years old and would prefer not to have to go mano-a-mano with 3 eighteen year olds. From my vantage point it is far more preferable to shoot them than to grapple with them. "I would go door to door, after offering amnesty programs and big payments to turn them in." That is what you would do. What the 100m Americans who own guns would do is shoot and kill you the moment you entered their homes, because you would be a trespasser. You are free to own a gun or not own a gun. What you are NOT free to do is deprive me of the right to own a gun.
