An even better idea, just to get the flavour of a *real* war is to shoot up the neighbour's house as a surprise and hail him to return fire or pay tribute. Perhaps an atrocity or two might bring the right memories back. Nothing like the real thing in order to properly keep the ghost alive. Can't just let a good thing like war die away, never to be heard of again.

A people should know how they came to be ... there was a piece in the weekend Sun, on how few canadians under thirty-five know about Vimy, thirty something per cent only, and in Québec, seven per cent ... it's going to be a neat trick to keep a democracy going on a foundation of such ignorance
