Every halfway alert person knows that Catholic communion is reserved for Catholics. How is one supposed to know this if they are not Catholic? I was invited to a friend's wedding about 15 years ago, and he was Catholic (although it had never come up in our friendship of 10 years, and I didn't really know his religion until the wedding). I was raised Presbyterian, and this was my first experience at a Catholic wedding (or ceremony). Well I was pretty surprised with all the kneeling and sitting and kneeling and sitting that went on, and at the end of the ceremony I just followed the group around me, got up and took communion! The couple gave me a pretty surprised look as I did so, but frankly I barely had any idea what was going on. I'm usually at least three-fourths alert!

The truly fascinating thing about Clinton is that Democrats rallied to his support no matter how badly he debased himself and those associated with him. After all, what is a slimy cigar among friends? What you see as debasement I see as adultery and a matter between Clinton and his wife. Every halfway alert person knows that Catholic communion is reserved for Catholics. Episcopalians practice catholic communion which is open to all baptized Christians. But to ask for and receive Catholic communion when you are Clinton, is sacrilege. Even Teddy Kennedy and John Kerry know that they are not allowed to take Catholic communion. Why? ted
