It's biased. So is Fox news. So is NewsMax So does that make Fox news/NewsMax not worth hearing/reading? I don't think so. You just keep in mind the source is biased.

You wouldn't want a double standard would you?

It doesn't follow that because some source is biased that there coverage of an issue is not worth reading. If that is your criteria, you will find very little in this world that IS worth reading. Everyone has some sort of bias.

In my opinion, some the best sources of information are very biased. Their bias gives them the motivation to dig up facts that support their bias. Otherwise news coverage just beomes who killed who today in the library and has nothing to say about the direction of our culture. That type of news is not even worth listening to IMO.

Attacking the messenger as "liberal" doesn't work anymore as Tom Delay is finding out. People have seen with their own eyes how phony and dishonest the rightwing can be with all their crocodile tears over Terri Schiavo, while they assaulted the power of the courts and even threatened to kill a conservative Christian judge.

There are plenty of moderate periodicals willing to back up the truth, whomever it benefits. Since when in America does telling the truth about a president or anyone in politics have to be a bias issue? All media outlets told the truth about Watergate, Whitewater and Iran-Contra, etc. not just liberal or conservative leaning services.

The real problem is that neocons do not tolerate ANYONE to tell the truth about them, permitting only rightwing propaganda. That is the real problem these days, we have stopped trusting rightwing leaders. Bush may think his drop in the polls is temporary. it's not. It's permanent and it's going to get worse.

You don't really mean that. If that was really your standard then you wouldn't be spending time on SI's political boards, where pretty much everyone has a bias. Your standard would say that none of it was worth reading.

What you are really saying is "that it is a liberal rag and therefore not worth reading" (because I don't like ideas that differ from my own bias).

Why don't you be honest and say what you really mean?

Fox News comes out against Delay, the final straw.
foxnews.com

So what will this mean? Well the rightwing is hoping to pressure Delay out soon so as to change the subject and save their skins. But the public will remember. About 2 million swingvoters decide who runs congress and the White House. Those people have to be damn disgusted at the rightwing and the GOP in general. Slimy Santorum types are just rats jumping ship[. Two weeks ago Santorum was at Delay's side. So was Bush. They all were. Because of the polls sliding for them, they are going to stab Delay in the back and try to avoid mass ousting. But it won't work. People have seen enough. Pandora's Box is open and is filled with corrupt demons of the right flying into the night.

Thank you Terri Schiavo. You died for a good cause. American democracy. You're a hero.
