I do not know why the US invades the countries it does, to spread democracy at the barrel of a gun finding WMD's? I would hope we would not invade turkey for water - but Bush is a cowboy and there is an old saying in texas that oil is for fighting but water is for killing. Kidding aside - Mr. Perkins - the economic hit man - said the invasion of iraq was beneficial to us not just because of oil, but because of iraqi water too - wether he meant that because we needed the water for ourselves - or could use the water for US construction interests - or could use the water or control of the rivers for political maneuvers to stabilize/destabilize the region I do not know. You are a smart guy Zonder - why would Mr. Perkins say that iraqi water was important to our invasion interests and our presence in the middle east along with oil? Syria and Iran are not our buddies eh? Turkey and Israel a little friendlier. What could water in such a dry region of the world have use to a foreign power? Perhaps Mr. Perkins is the only one that knows. I am open to any ideas you can come up with, or is mr. perkins in error when he says iraqi oil and water were big concerns for us in the middle east?
