Both did good things but measured by the bottom line their legacy is way down with a lot of damage caused.


It is interesting how much both of them were controlled by the economy they were handed, and despite their best efforts neither was able to reverse the direction of the economy until the ends of their terms.

Ethically, you can measure the two parties against the corruption yardstick of their own President. Many Republicans supported the effort to impeach Nixon because ethics trumped politics. No Democrat Senators were willing to support the effort to impeach Clinton because politics trumped ethics.
