My guess is that the oil firms close to Bush-Cheney have gotten sweetheart deals to run the Iraq oil business. Technically, the Iraqis own their own oil, but posession is 90% of the law, and the commissions are likely to be much-much bigger than usual. I just heard Exxon may make 50 billion in windfall profits this year. That is a direct result of them having two oilmen in the White House and a chemical-pesticides man running congress. When I was a kid, they had something called the windfall profits tax. But don't expect these huge windfall profits to be taxed much.

This is one big way the public gets shafted under the Bush-Cheney regime.
