Comcast Cable ...

Gottfried,

A network problem that cable giant Comcast is having trouble fixing has resulted in disrupted service for some of its 7 million high-speed Internet customers across the country.

Thanks for posting ...

I struggled with this end of last week. I had just installed the Adobe Reader 7.0.1 and though that might be causing my problem. Comcast Cable in my neck of the woods (Delaware) has been unbelievably robust since I started using perhaps 3 years ago so the intermittent service was really unusual. I talked to a tech on late Friday afternoon before troubleshooting my system, and was assured that the problem was on their end although he was surprised I was having problems in Delaware, (Bucks County PA was where they really were hosed) and by that time I had connectivity -- I'd been out for almost an hour and was out about 40 minutes the prior day, although most of my problem was inability to reach some, but not all, frequently accessed sites (Google e.g.) Things have been fine this week.

I was a bit surprised that through this, Comcast had no advisory accessible on their home page. My recall is they used to post advisories as to network status, although I've had so few interruptions, I can't say that for sure.

Best,

- Eric -

Thought it was my wireless system I installed. Spent several hours last night trying to fix it. Turns out it was a Comcast problem. Their tech support was not aware of any problems when I called. What frigging great customer service!
Thanks for posting that info, Gottfried. Probably wouldn'have ever gotten it from Comcast.
