Before money is doled out folks gettting it should be deemed credit worthy and banks credit rating should be at stake if they are playing fast and loose.

I see this as a "National Nanny" attitude. People are credit checked before the banks give them a card, and the bank does not make money off of deadbeats, in spite of the rhetoric to the contrary. I look upon the outcry against the banks as a combination of bank dislike by some, and a desire to run people's lives by others.

There is a difference between saying it is the liquor store's (or bar's)fault and saying they might be held liable.
