Actually, you don't know my views on these issues Oh, I think I have figured your views out. You have bandied about "McCarthyism" often enough when the free speech for Profs comes up. I wish you believed in it for students. Still just popping off responses, Bill. If it's possible to do a search on Shils, you might reread some of the quotes from him. The boundaries on academic freedom within universities need to be better understood; and the need for freedom of speech outside the university needs to be more appreciated. Bottom line.
