Well, the first is to have a faculty culture which acknowledges that's simply unacceptable. The latest evidence that is the operative faculty culture is the Columbia report that made a point of noting they found none. Had they, it would have been deemed unacceptable.

The second is for universities to have strong procedures to handle such complaints. Some do; some don't.

It will be too bad if the present attempts of the right to politicize the university weakens the current move to institute such principles. One of the reactions to right wing attempts to politicize such matters at Columbia may be just such.
