Yogi, the claims made for Laetrile are better than what you dug up. If you can't see the problem, that's your problem, not mine.

Festus? I don't remember any of the medicos involved claiming she was "brain dead". The term used was "persistent vegetative state"- -a coma which they believe she will never recover from. That's a different animal- -and definitely vaguer.

If she were "brain dead" there would be no argument- -that's now the legal definition of death in all 50 states. The problem came about because she did not meet the criteria for that, but also, according to most expert opinion, had no chance of recovering consciousness.
