Re: Your problem, I think, is that you believe that anyone who disagrees with you does so in bad faith

There is abundant proof that that is exactly the case. Except for the "true believers" who act much like the herd in Germany in the 1930s, during the Cultural Revolution in China in the 1960s or in the Kymer Rouge madness in Cambodia in the 1970s.

These true believers in America generally take the form of the so-called "Christian(sic) fundamentalists" who see the U.S. Constitution as a threat to their goal of creating a 13th Century style theocracy in this nation.

What I see is massive delusion, groupthink and a failure of skepticism among the followers of the Dominionist ideology. And what clearly is the case is that there is a tremendous cynicism among the leaders of this bizarre and malignant cult who are just like Hitler, Mao or Pol Pot, using the superstitious and ill-educated nature of the masses to the end of the self-aggrandizement and accretion of ever more power to the elites.

My great concern is that vastly too many people, perhaps including you, have drunk the Kool-Aid and are presently engaging in behaviors that are destined to ruin democracy in America, replacing our noble 225 year experiment with a demented, corrupt and completely unfair theocracy run by and for a cynical and criminal elite.
