We are backsliding on poverty, health care and under-employment. The GOP stands for the big layoffs, outsourcing and Walmart jobs. Anything for the corporate bottom line. Democrats stand for protecting better paying jobs and giving people more health care at lower prices. Under Clinton we came the closest we ever have to abolishing poverty. Now we have slid right back. Under CLinton everyone did well. Under Bush, only the top 10% (and the more regulated sectors) do well.

If and when the real estate bubble bursts, along with a market slide and inflation and higher interest rates, look out. We are on that course now, but so far we are hanging in there, though mounting huge deficits and letting the dollar get clobbered.

So the real truth is that President Bush 43's policies have caused poverty rates to be lower across the board than they were during Clinton's terms. Thanks for posting that.
