Didn't I hear all last year how Kerry was going to be a shoo-in for all these reasons?

LOL...who said that? All indications where that the race was going to be tight. Then with Bush holding back the dam of information about Iraq...untill the election passed...while Rove and company brought on the Smear Vets...and then Rather tripped on his face...while around the country republican operatives were working to shift the balance in the elections by hook and by crook...and the result was a squeaker for Bush.

If the election were re-run today...with the information that is finally surfacing...it'd probably have been a squeaker for Kerry.

What you don't understand is that the nation is divided. But there is a large center that swings the balance in elections. By luck, timing, deception...the center poised slightly in favor of Bush...and so we have another four years of one of the most ineloquent presidents in history.
