but Americans who receive government-provided health care (i.e. the poor and the elderly) are significantly happier with their health care than the rest of us.

And if the government paid for the new car I want to get I would be pretty satisfied as well.

Of course if everyone had to get a car from a government program and I had to pay the tax money for that car I would probably be dissatisfied, but most people would be dissatisfied with the taxes they pay not with the program that gives them things they want or need.
