If i was president i would immediatly cut the (medicare) drug benefit in half. (cut the defence budget in half) I would throw out all the state funded insurance plans and make everyone mark to market where the pension monies are.

i would start there. Didn't reagan do some kind of Energy cap??? I'm not really old enough to remember...

Bush wants to give big oil and coal 20 billion charity in his Energy Bill. AFter they've already gouged us for hundreds of billions. And the last thing we need is more coal smoke fouling our air. I'd rather go nuclear if that's the only option, but it isn't. There are many cleaner options Bush all but ignores. Bush also ignores fuel efficiency which could easily save more oil every year than anything they might find in Alaska.
