I am the first boomer and i come from a time when being a moderate was not a bad thing. My views on fp are for the most part very centrist. I dont quite know where all this anti-Israel venom comes from and being Jewish makes it that more difficult to take. Neither the Americans or the Israelis are immune from error. I gave an example with israel's mistake with settlements. It may have seemed like a good realpolitik idea at the time but it caused more harm than good.
As you know, i supported US Iraq policy but am less than happy that intel wasnt good. Some say that is deliberate. I hesitate to say that. But what i will say is that intel was bad and post-war phase ops were terrible. I think that we can still salvage something positive from iraq and i remain somewhat hopeful. But i also realize that more on all sides have died than need be if this administration had a post war strategy other than the "flowers' scenario.
We have crossed swords at times but i think there are some areas on which we agree. Mike
