Thanks Claude! I didn't know the LPC was up and running again. It looks like they have some stronger people involved now. It would be good for the "cause" if some junkyard survivalist isn't the first person that comes to mind when hearing the word "libertarian".

Ohh Please! What a drama queen statement. If the Libs loose the next election, Martin is out and new blood will take the command. Frank Mckenna, Brian Tobin, Manely. Or, how about Michael Ignatieff. Quality people waiting in the wings.

It's been used as trump card by the Liberals for ages now, that they are the only ones who can 'keep the country together' ... this disenfranchises all the rest of us who prefer other policies, and you really have to wonder if it's true .... if they're doing what they can to make it so, a self-fulfilling prophecy, then one of them might as well appoint himself dictator for life, and be done with it

From a post today - 'and renew the convictions that made us the governing party of the 20th Century, and I'm sure will make us the governing party of the 21st Century' ... lol, isn't that arrogance too hard to shovel with a manure fork, you need a jackhammer ... they really believe this, even a few of them here in BC, it's amazing ...trouble is, too many in the rest of the country believe it, and think you can run a decent democracy without ever throwing out the devils you know

They have a natural advantage in the name, 'Liberal' ... no other name quite has the all-things-to-all-people catchiness about it, except maybe for Libertarian ... too bad the latter has not had a bath and put some dress clothes on, it could be a contender ... 'Conservative' has an uphill struggle, too reminiscent of inherited privilege, divine right of bureaucracy and routine military adventures .... 'Endie Pee' never had a chance, too evocative of 'See See See Pee', people know right off they'd just piddle it all away

en.wikipedia.org - if a person made an indepth study of all the ways 'liberal' has been used, he'd have a full grasp on human politics of recent centuries, probably ... good to see you here Claude .... salut
