Intel said last week that the number of outstanding shares is the lowest it's been in years.

As of late 2004, many had thrown in the towel on Intel, believing its biz was about to take a dive in part due to the competition from AMD.
....AMD was doing good until the inevitable happens.<g>

I think a lot of people really got shaken out of this stock (like me), not realizing how notebooks (centrino) would really drive the revenues. More importantly, I have a good feeling a lot of funds unloaded their positions or at least cut back in late 2004. The company is much stronger now and the tide is turning, imho.

Intel having the lowest outstanding shares is also good along with their continuing backs. This is one of the best large cap tech stocks to own right now.
