Chuck believes the mideast will be the mideast and nothing we do matters. Most of us on all sides of the issue(s) believe we can make a positive impact. Even many anti-warriors believe this--if only we could israel to behave or not have offended bin laden etc. Who knows if we supported the Pals and had no troops in Saudi Arabia in 2001, maybe OBL doesnt attack so there may be some truth there that we dont like to admit. I dont believe in inevitablilitys. I was for the war and am still hoping for something positive in iraq for iraq, for the mideast and for the entire world. mike
