That isn't the point. The minority in congress never had the final say on who does or does not become a judge......that is just how it works. Maybe if dems had filibustered correctly they would have persuaded enough conservatives to see things their way? As it was, they didn't even allow debate. Besides, I don't remember the last time dems compromised with minority conservatives, and the world didn't fall apart. Well, not completely anyway. -gg-

Of course the real battle will begin this summer (?) when Bush will be required to name a replacement for Rehnquist.....and maybe a few others.
