You're jamming out there, Tim, and you know it, 'country' is not the same as 'formal state', its meaning is wider ... it's hard to imagine you incapable of wrapping your mind around these concepts, you're a bright guy - picture yourself a member of an agrarian people who happen not yet to have developed up a formal state, yet you have a home and family and olive trees and the bones of your dead on a little piece of land somewhere, which piece and the pieces around it constitute your country, in the sense of homeland, and of landscape if you like ... so now, Would you sell your country?
