grainne... with all due respect..... i think what you may be missing here is those with CREDENTIALS are often able to make convincing, superior arguments not because of the 'credential' but because of the study that went into obtaining it.... I had condescending, arrogant, highly educated intellectual parents, and I'm just sort of sick of that attitude. So here I would like something more democratic i'm sorry to hear that.... but i'm sure you must realize that it does not necessarily follow then, that all highly educated people are condescending and arrogant. i see the contrary...people who truly know their business, and are good at what they do are good communicators, and importantly have something of substance to say... this of course doesn't negate or detract from a "non-credentialed" person making an equally good presentation
