The question makes you uncomfortable, you evade by bringing up 'nation' and 'nationalism', neither of which appear in the post to which you are responding, neither of which have anything to do with whether you would sell for a few shillings your homeland, your livelihood, the graves of your ancestors, everything you had ever known .... you understood the question, of course 'But as far as I can tell the idea that they where losing their country, or anything like a country wasn't prevailent at the time.' Then you have not reviewed the statements of early zionists who knew very well that the indigenous knew, and soon would react to the fact, that there was a movement to take their land ....
