Oh, yeah, but outlawing firearms doesn't make them go away. Britain has some of the strictest gun laws in the world. It's close impossible to get one legally. And they STILL have illegal weapons and gun violence. NYC has strict gun control laws. Nobody ever gets shot there, right? States that have strict laws don't differ from states that have looser laws in gun violence. If you make it very difficult to legally get a gun, you make them all that more attractive for the bad guys because of the advantage it gives them.
