If they had ever considered Gandhi, they would have had a state long since. But they can't consider Gandhi until their aims become Gandhi-like. Gandhi wanted to build an independent India. He didn't care about destroying England. But the Palestinian cause has always cared far more about destroying Israel than building Palestine. When did you ever hear a speech from Arafat where he talked about the content of Palestine, about how the people would live in it? Never. That's because his cause was destroying a state, not building a state.
