Actually, if most insurance plans are like ours, it included our son under the family plan up to age 25 so long as he was enrolled full time in College. After that we tried to get him to purchase the campus plan, it is very reasonable, probably cause youngsters dont normally get any serious illness, but we couldnt even get him to do that. jdn

they should be required to work off the bills at the hospital with this scam.

Since I posted about the "no-pay" problem with hospitals, we have had many suggestions of ways to get them to pay. None of them will work, because you can't "force" people to pay their bills. We quit "debtor's prisons" years ago because they were a failure.

The Swiss demand mandatory medical insurance. I think we will end up with something along that line. It will have to be deductable from pay to work. And will require a extremely good SS card to back it up. Which will also take care of the illegal alien problem.

This was brought up here a few weeks ago also, and at the time I wondered if policies were different for different schools. Both of the private universities that my sons attended (Rice and USC) required proof of insurance or they mandated that a policy be taken out through the school.
